Loose curls?

I have really thick, medium length hair; it's naturally wavy with a bit of curl. How do I get the look of loose curls AND keep them from in place? Any product or styling tool suggestions? Thanks! :)

Loose curls?

From what you have described, you pretty much have my hair type. What I suggest you do to achieve the loose curl look is the following:

1. After you get out of the shower, use a curl activating cream such as Garnier Fructis Curl and Shine Leave-In Conditioning Cream. It will tame any frizz, and help promote soft curls.

2. You could also try any kind of mousse from your local beauty supply shop. I would just tell them that you would like a styling product for curly hair, and they will show you the appropriate product.

3. Also what you can do when your hair is wet, is put your hair in a messy bun and sleep with it in overnight. It will help your hair in the curling process.

4. Lastly, if you can stand the feeling, what I used to do to achieve that loose curl look, was put my hair in soft foam curlers at night while my hair was fresh out of the shower, and put a shower cap over them and sleep on them. Then in the morning they would be slightly damp, but perfectly curled. By the time they dried my hair looked amazing!

Hope this helps!

go to your local natural health food store and buy a good leave in conditioner. I haven't tried this yet but I read somewhere for a nice style just run the leave in through your hair and then set in place a headband. if its nice you can leave it in or take it out. It leaves the front part smooth and sleek and the rest nice a defined. You may want to follow with a little hair spray you can make your own or buy it from the health food store either way make sure the ingredients are organic.

Homemade Hair Spray

Chop one lemon (or an orange for dry hair). Place in a pot with 2 cups water. Boil until half of the initial amount remains. Cool, strain, and place in a spray bottle. Store in the refrigerator. If it is too sticky, add more water. Add one ounce rubbing alcohol as a preservative and then the spray can be stored for up to two weeks unrefrigerated.

Buy the plastic snap on magnetic rollers with the smooth barrel and a bottle of setting lotion. Apply the setting lotion to wet hair and comb through to the ends. Then take a small section of hair and apply a roller. You can either roll your hair only at the ends or roll your hair half way up.
