Setting pattern for page boy?

I'm growing my hair out so that I can style it in a more feminen style. I want to style it in a page boy sort of like scully's hair on the ex-files. Is it just a standard set with medium size rollers? I was thinking about going to a hair salon but am a little shy about that.

your pictures show me you have the right length to work with to get the shall we say less styled look I would , with your head straight up cut all one length at the length it is now or just a little shorter not much. I would then undercut only to clean up the neckline and to show off the bluntness of the cut. I would thin out your hair where it is too heavy and then layer only about an inch from the bottom. this would give you the slightly messy look without loosing the overall shape of the style good luck my dear!!

You could probably blow it dry and use a curling iron to turn the ends under into a pageboy style. If you do choose to use rollers, depending on how easily your hair curls, you may want to use large rollers for a smoother look with just the ends turning under.

If you want an easy to maintain page boy it will work better if it is cut in a way called undercut. The underneath layers are just a bit shorter than the one above it. If you tucked your chin, and combed the hair back, the length would all be the same. But when you lift your head up to normal position the hair is layered in reverse, shorter underneath. This does not work for hair that is longer than the shoulders. It can be blow dried using a hair brush to curl the ends under as you dry it. If Scully's hair length is what you want this is the cut for you.
