I need help with my stubborn thick hair?

I have really thick (mostly straight) hair and lots of it. I want a new style that is a little edgy, but when I am looking for pics online to show my hairstylist, I can never find any pics of cute hairstyles for my hair type. My hair isn't fine or medium and it likes to flip up at the ends ( THAT drives me crazy). I don't know what to do! help pleeeeeeease

well if you really want to go edgy, and you have a lot of thick, volumous hair, i would go with a choppy look.

shorter layers up at the top, and long layers underneath.

and a straightener should help with your hair flipping out at the base.

be sure to buy a ceramic straightener though. they will cause much less damage than an old fashioned steel iron.
